US Market News
  • The US fiscal talks are set to go to the wire as markets continue to see the events as largely political and expect a last minute deal to be secured, although Fitch stated that it has put the US on negative watch
  • The US corporate reporting season continues apace, with the likes of Intel and Yahoo reporting yesterday
  • Twitter announced that it is seeking an IPO on the NYSE, confirming previous indications that it was not looking at Nasdaq, it also detailed that nine month revenues gained to $422.2m from $204m. It plans to price the IPO on November 14. Nasdaq shares fell slightly after hours on the news
  • Yahoo detailed Q4 sales of $1.18bn under the forecasts of around $1.25bn as it continues to lose market share to Google, however its 24% stake in Alibaba continues to help offset its main search business
